Видео/телеинспекция труб производится специальной камерой, которая передвигается по трубам и дает вид на телемонитор и в одно и то же время проводится видеозвукозапись труб.
Подобная проверка может определить эксплуатационное качество стыков и стенок трубопроводов, области нахождения свищей, различных трещин и иных изъянов, выявить засоры и инородные предметы, несанкционированные врезки и т.д. Видеоинспекция может быть использована и в случае приёма трубопроводов впоследствии строительства, проведения ремонта.
Большим положительным моментом системы телеинспекции считается её мобильность, простота доступа к трубопроводу, а ещё возможность получать видеоизображение внутренних частей различных труб.
